I did a series of drawing with a single white apple as a subject. It was during my intensive classical drawing program. I was studying the effect of light on a subject, the effect of the background and the different materials. 
For this one, it was a white object on a white background with diffuse light. My white background was achieved with many layers of veils. I tried to convey the apparence of softness due to the indirect light going through diffrent layers of veil before touching the subject.
