I drew this over many live model sessions. I did many sketches first, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted from it. It was a conversation I had with the model that made it clic for me. He is praticing ju-jitsu and used to pratice judo. He is a warrior and the pose is one taken by conquerer. From then on, I focus on that impression to carry on. That pride and satisfaction we feel when we succeeded in our endeavor. I hope it translates well.
